Estate Strawberry Cobbler -- a rocks glass with crushed ice, ruby-red cobbler, strawberry and mint

Estate Strawberry Cobbler

The cobbler is one of the oldest cocktail families going, and it works beautifully with sweet vermouth as the base. We have kept this one simple: Estate shaken with fresh strawberries and a splash of orange, poured over a mound of crushed ice so it stays cold and opens up slowly as you drink. It looks the part at a garden table and tastes even better than it looks.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Estate English Sweet Vermouth
  • 2 fresh strawberries (hulled)
  • 15 ml fresh orange juice
  • Strawberry half + mint sprig (garnish)

Method

Step 1: Muddle and shake

Lightly muddle the strawberries in the base of a shaker. Add Estate and orange juice with ice and shake hard for 10 seconds.

Step 2: Strain over crushed ice

Fine strain into a rocks glass or tumbler packed with crushed ice.

Step 3: Garnish and serve

Top with more crushed ice, then garnish with a strawberry half and a sprig of mint. Serve with a short straw.

Tasting Notes

Rich, herbaceous vermouth meets ripe English strawberry and bright orange, served cold over crushed ice. The cobbler format keeps everything fresh and sippable -- a garden party classic brought back to life.
