A darker, bolder Negroni riff built on Dispense amaro, gin and sweet vermouth. Rich, herbal and unapologetically bitter.

Dispense Negroni Scuro

Not every Negroni needs to be ruby-red and citrus-bright. The Negroni Scuro replaces Campari with Dispense, our modern British amaro, pushing the drink into darker, more herbal territory. Part of our Negroni Week Special collection — three variations that prove the Negroni template is endlessly adaptable.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Dispense Modern British Amaro
  • 30 ml London dry gin
  • 30 ml sweet vermouth
  • Orange twist (garnish)

Method

Step 1: Stir

Add the Dispense, gin and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice. Stir steadily for about 30 seconds until well-chilled and properly diluted.

Stir — Dispense Negroni Scuro

Step 2: Strain

Strain into a chilled rocks glass over a single large ice cube.

Strain — Dispense Negroni Scuro

Step 3: Garnish and serve

Express an orange twist over the surface to release the oils, then drop it in. The aroma should hit before the first sip.

Garnish and serve — Dispense Negroni Scuro

Tasting Notes

Deep and brooding where a classic Negroni is bright. Dispense brings dark chocolate and gentian root bitterness, layered over the juniper backbone of the gin.
