A fernet-spiked Negroni that swaps Campari for Britannica London Fernet. Menthol, eucalyptus and a long bitter finish.

Britannica Negroni Amaro

Fernet in a Negroni sounds aggressive until you try it. Britannica brings its signature eucalyptus and mint to the equal-parts format, creating something that sits between a Negroni and an after-dinner digestivo. The last of our Negroni Week Special trio — this one is for the bitter lovers.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Britannica London Fernet
  • 30 ml London dry gin
  • 30 ml sweet vermouth
  • Grapefruit twist (garnish)

Method

Step 1: Build and stir

Combine Britannica, gin and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass with plenty of ice. Stir for 30 seconds — the fernet needs good dilution to open up.

Step 2: Strain

Strain over a single large ice cube into a chilled rocks glass.

Step 3: Garnish and serve

Express a wide grapefruit twist over the drink, then rest it on the rim. The citrus oil lifts the menthol notes beautifully.

Tasting Notes

Bold and cooling, with Britannica's signature eucalyptus and mint cutting through the vermouth sweetness. A Negroni for people who think the original is too safe.
